Yishai calls for Zoubi's indictment and withdrawal of her citizenship

February 20, 2014 at 3:29 pm

Israel’s interior minister, Eli Yishai, called for Palestinian member of the Israeli Knesset, Haneen Zoubi, to be indicted for her participation in the campaign to break the Israeli imposed siege on the Gaza Strip, and for her Israeli citizenship to be revoked.

These demands by the Interior Minister were made during a telephone conversation with legal adviser to the Israeli government, Yehuda Weinstein. Yeshai demanded that Weinstein submit a bill for the indictment of Hanin Zoubi and strip her of her citizenship on charges of treason against the state and cooperating with its enemies.

It is understood that this telephone conversation took place on Tuesday (13.07.2010) before the Knesset vote to strip the MP, Ms. Zoubi, of her parliamentary privileges.
