Al Khoffash: The next phase would be one of assassinations not detentions

February 27, 2014 at 11:34 pm

After last Saturday’s extra-judicial killing of three members of the Aqsa Brigades in the West Bank and reported attempted assassination of a Hamas figure in Beirut the head of Al-Ahrar Center for Prisoners’ Studies and Human Rights in Nablus, Mr Fuad Al Khoffash, has warned that the Israeli Occupation has abandoned its policy of detention in favour of assassinations. Al Khoffash said the Israeli agencies took this decision following the deadlock in the prisoner exchange deal. He noted that this is not the first time the Occupation have resorted to this measure to resolve its differences with the Palestinians. The human rights offcial said the appropriate response to the emerging policy is to pursue the perpetrators of extrajudicial killings in courts of law.
