Israeli Occupation increase military operations in the West Bank

February 27, 2014 at 10:28 am

The Israeli Occupation Forces proceeded, on Monday morning, to intensify its presence and expand its activities in the occupied West Bank. The Israeli actions have come against the background of escalating tensions and clashes which broke out yesterday between extremist Jewish settlers and Palestinians in the Arab neighborhoods east of Occupied Jerusalem.

The Hebrew radio reported on Monday, April 26, that a special force – “border guards” – is now stationed in the West Bank, claiming that “the force will prevent the damage of property, ensure the public order, deal with riots and carry out  a campaign of arrests.”

These actions come in the aftermath of a Jewish strike, organized by a number of Jewish settlers in the Arabic neighborhood of Silwan in the east of Jerusalem, which led to the outbreak of clashes between Palestinian residents and extremist Jewish settlers.
