A right-wing Israeli Member of Knesset attacked Arab MK Dr Ahmed Tibi for statements he made during a protest held on Tuesday in the city of Sakhnin in the Galilee region, north of Palestine. In the protest that marked the 34th anniversary of Land Day, Tibi described the current Israeli government as the “most racist” against Arabs.
MK Danny Danon said that Tibi continues to follow in the footsteps of former MK Azmi Bishara and that he sympathizes with and supports the enemies of Israel.
According to Israel Radio, Danon said that instead of trying to mediate and strive for peace, the Arab Knesset members incite the Arab public towards a third intifada – uprising.
Tibi, the head of the United Arab List, had said at Tuesday’s Land Day protest that Israel has 40 laws which discriminate against Arabs, and that racism has become a mainstream policy in Israeli society.
It is worth mentioning that Danon had accused Bishara of treason and demanded withdrawing his Israeli citizenship and cancelling his compensations as a former MK.
