Tel Aviv Accuses Riyadh of Financing Anti-Israel Campaign

February 27, 2014 at 10:58 am

The Israeli Foreign Ministry has accused the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia of funding a worldwide campaign against the Jewish state and its people.

A Hebrew radio station quoted the ministry on Monday, April 12, as saying, “A campaign against Jews and the State of Israel is currently being carried out and coordinated throughout the world, and is funded by Arab states, at the forefront of which are Saudi Arabia and Palestinian entities.”

The deputy Israeli Foreign Minister, Danny Ayalon, said that these parties “invest vast amounts of money and human resources to push for their goals,” adding that “it has been proved that Saudi Arabia is the main financial supporter of the organization Human Rights Watch” which is concerned with human rights – and takes stances against Israel – “although Saudi Arabia should be the last country to talk about human rights,” he said.
