The Palestinian Media Forum has called upon different Palestinian, Arab, and free institutions to set an urgent media plan to expose Israeli strategies to Judaize Jerusalem and Al Aqsa Mosque, and it urged media entities to coordinate efforts in solidarity with Jerusalemites and Jerusalem in the face of Israeli “crimes.”
In a press release on Saturday, the Media Forum stressed “the importance of not stopping media opposition to Israel’s war on Occupied Jerusalem” and praised the role of Palestinian journalists in covering the current events in Jerusalem and Al Aqsa.
“Despite the constant Israeli attempts to attack Jerusalem and Al Aqsa Mosque, and amid a media blackout and the silencing of media voices, everyone acknowledges the outstanding performance of Palestinian journalists and their role in covering events in Al Aqsa.”
The Forum also expressed its appreciation of the efforts of Gaza’s local radio channels and their solidarity with Jerusalem, which is subjected to Israeli aggression and Judaization. The Forum asserted that it is important for the Palestinian, Arab, Muslim and international media to shed light on the suffering of Jerusalem and Al Aqsa.
The forum condemned the occupation forces’ obstacles to the journalists; especially their ongoing campaigns to prevent them from carrying out their fact-finding mission in Jerusalem through using force.
The Forum invited the International Union for Journalists to call a halt to the attacks against Jerusalem journalists and the restrictions imposed on their rights to unveil the truth. It also suggested carrying out an investigation into whether or not some Israeli security officers act as professional journalists in disguise attempting to detaining Palestinian youth in Jerusalem.
