Hebrew media reported that the commander of NATO, Admiral James Stavridis, has paid an official visit to Tel Aviv, in response to an invitation addressed to him by Israel’s military chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi.

High-level Israeli security sources considered that visit, which took place on Wednesday, Nov. 18, as one that carries a certain message and has a great importance, according to them.

Israel’s military chief of staff, stressed, during a dinner held in honor of NATO Commander, that he gives the relations between NATO and Israel utmost importance. “The Israeli army and NATO have common and similar challenges,” NATO’s commander said.

According to the Hebrew media sources, the NATO commander checked “the strategic planning” for the Israeli army and the multi-year plans.
