Egyptian army Facebook page publishes picture of Bahraini activist, claiming it belongs to Brotherhood protester

March 10, 2014 at 2:30 pm

The Facebook page of the PR unit in the Egyptian Armed Forces posted a picture of a woman in black burqa carrying Molotov cocktails. The picture is claimed to have been taken during Bahraini protests against the regime.

However, the page claimed it belongs to a woman affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood in Cairo, and that she intends to burn police cars using Molotov, suggesting she deserves to be hit on her head, or killed with a live bullet.

The admin posted the following comment on the picture: “if this lamb uses this Molotov to burn police vehicles, the police will be accused of burning them to accuse MB of doing it; if a police officer hits her on her head, they will say that police is assaulting free women and that police are thugs; if she receives a live bullet which kills her and relieves us from her disgusting [attitude], she will be labelled a martyr, right?”

In reality, the picture has nothing to do with Muslim Brotherhood women as claimed by the page. The woman in the picture is a Bahraini protester.
