Netanyahu: Ease of sanctions on Iran has led to escalation of its international aggression

March 22, 2014 at 2:02 pm

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed that the easing of international sanctions on Iran has led to the recent escalation of its international aggression. He also threatened to continue with Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.

At the start of the weekly cabinet meeting on Sunday, Netanyahu said that “The international community is reducing the sanctions, and Iran is increasing its aggression; this is the real result of the measures taken so far.”

He added, “The sanctions relief granted to Iran did not moderate its aggressive policies, but rather led to the exact opposite. The Iranian foreign minister recently met with the head of Islamic Jihad. Iran continues to provide lethal weapons to terrorist organizations, continues butchering in Syria, and now has added the following: the blatant and sharp attack by the Iranian ruler on the US, along with sending warships to the Atlantic Ocean.”

Netanyahu also addressed the martyrdom of activists in the Gaza Strip and the missiles launched towards southern Israel and warned, “Israel’s policy against terrorism was clear and simple: those who strike Israel, or intend to do so, will be hit hard in return.”
