Tunisia’s Ennahda Party Leader Rashid Ghannouchi met with Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday. Following their meeting Ghannouchi told the Anadolu news agency the two leaders discussed the most prominent issues in the Islamic world and the situation in Tunisia.
Ghannouchi said the talks with Erdogan about Tunisia focused on the steps the country took towards reinforcing democracy which led to drafting a consensus constitution supported by the government. “Tunisia has become a leading model of democracy in the region,” he said.
Ghannouchi expressed his hopes that his party will achieve good results during the next elections.
