Egyptians for Democracy UK today strongly condemned the ‘heinous attack’ on a tourist bus in Taba, Egypt, on Sunday.

“We extend our condolences to the families of the victims and we demand that the perpetrators of this criminal act be brought to justice. We reiterate our disapproval of all forms of violence and bloodshed,” the organisation said in a statement.

“This attack on visitors to our country is absolutely contrary to the values of the Egyptian people and we regard it as an act of treachery. No cause justifies this criminal act.”

The group said the attack would have far reaching consequences which they said the Egyptian people should unite to overcome.

“This action will no doubt result in enormous harm to the Egyptian economy and the livelihood of millions who work in this sector. We call on all Egyptians, of all faiths and political persuasions, to work together to restore the rule of law in our country,” they said.
