Extremist and religious Jews to protest against military service

Jewish Rabbis and extremists are planning to organise a number of protests on Sunday to demonstrate against the approval of obligatory military service for the Haredim, an Israeli newspaper reported on Sunday.

The newspaper said that because of fears of the potential for violence Israeli security forces and border guards were informed to be on alert in Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem.

Rabbis called their day of protests “the black day” referring to their black uniform. The newspaper said that the Rabbis would demonstrate wearing their official black uniform.
