The Islamic resistance movement Hamas has denied reports published in some media outlets about the intention of the movement’s political bureau chief, Khaled Meshaal, to transfer his residence from Qatar to Lebanon.

Hamas’ spokesperson Hossam Badran stated that, “Meshaal works freely in the state of Qatar and does not face any obstacles.”

Badran explained that Qatar offers all the necessary facilities to Meshaal and is committed to its position in support of the Palestinian cause and the resistance.

He stressed that the media reports about Meshaal merely reflect the aspirations and dreams of those opposed to the Hamas movement and the Palestinian resistance.

He also denied that there is any intention for Meshaal to visit Iran, pointing out that there is nothing new on this subject and that Hamas has no presence in Syria any longer.

“If we had any presence in Syria, it would be positive and neutral as is the case with the movement’s stance regarding internal issues in other Arab states.”
