Chief Palestinian negotiator: Hamas in not a terrorist organisation

Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said on Friday that the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas “is not a terrorist organisation.”

Speaking in the inauguration speech for Masarat Conference, a non-governmental Palestinian study centre, he said: “Hamas is a Palestinian movement, is not and will never be a terrorist organisation”.

The conference, held in the city of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, lasted for two days – Friday and Saturday.
