Hamas refuses any unilateral factional measures in the Palestinian parliament

April 12, 2014 at 1:56 pm

Member of Hamas’s political bureau Mousa Abu Marzook has refused the possibility of any one faction taking unilateral measures in the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC), be it minor or a major party.

Writing on Facebook, Abu Marzook pointed out that: “The PLC members in Gaza are part of the whole PLC, which represents both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Drafting laws is not the duty of any one single faction, but of all factions together.”

He said there is a division in the Palestinian society and that “it should be ended”.

Abu Marzook noted that the current and urgent duty of the PLC should be: “Seeking national unity, breaking the siege of Gaza, reinforcing resistance, maintaining relations with the Arab countries and solving domestic problems such as electricity, drinking water, unemployment, etc…”

The senior Hamas leader also said that the code of the Palestinian mass media should be “redefined”, as it is an important issue.
