Israeli occupation kills a Palestinian judge

April 12, 2014 at 10:07 am

Israeli occupation soldiers shot to death a Palestinian judge while entering Allenby Bridge between Jordan and the occupied West Bank on Monday morning.

The judge, Raed Za’eiter, 38, who was born in the West Bank city of Nablus, was working in Jordan and, when he was shot, was going to the West Bank for a short visit to see his family.

Witnesses and travellers told Palestinian sources that the judge was shot immediately after he got off the bus on the Israeli side of the Bridge. The Israelis shot him in the upper part of his body and he died immediately.

Israeli sources claimed the judge got off the bus shouting “Allahu Akbar” (God is the Great) and tried to snatch a rifle off an Israeli soldier. Then, the Israeli soldiers shot him in the chest. They claimed the incident took place during a search for wanted people.

Chief of General Committee for Crossings and Borders in the Palestinian Authority, Nazmi Mohana, said: “The Israeli occupation immediately closed the crossing after the incident, which took place at 9:20am, and announced the Bridge a closed military zone.”
