Israeli spy leaves US prison for medical treatment

April 12, 2014 at 9:34 am

The committee working to free convicted Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard has said that he has been transferred to a hospital for medical treatment from the American prison where he is serving a life sentence. Hebrew website Walla said on Thursday that Pollard’s condition is “unstable” but no further details were provided.

Jonathan Pollard was convicted by a US court of spying for Israel against its main ally and sponsor. He has been in prison for 28 years. Successive US governments have refused to release him or bow to the pressure being exerted by Israel and its influential Lobby in Washington.
