Jordan: teacher arrested over Rabaa sign

Jordanian security authorities detained a school teacher for having a “R4BIA” (Rabia Al-Adaweya) sticker on his car, the press centre of Jordanian Teachers Movement said in a statement.

According to the statement, Ahmad Abu Hassan, a teacher from Al-Salat town in Tarbeyat Al-Shouna municipality has been arrested by police because of the Rabaa sign on his car.

Although Jordanian authorities have not banned the Rabaa sign, this came as the third incident after two other young men had been referred to trial on charges of flashing a “banned logo”.
