Kuwaiti Endowments and Justice Minister Nayef al-Ajami submitted his resignation to the ministerial council on Friday, Anadolu news agency said.
The measure came after an American official had accused Al-Ajami of “having a history linked to reinforcing Jihad in Syria.”
Speaking to the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Rai, Al-Ajami affirmed that he had submitted his resignation and the ministerial council is to take a decision on the issue on Sunday.
It was previously reported that Al-Ajami had requested resignation due to health issues. Sources said that he had travelled to London for medical examination last month.
