In statements to the Libyan news agency Ain Libya, Haftar said: “The Egyptian army offered deploying military troops in Al-Wadi Al-Ahmar and Dalek, to control all oil fields in Al-Hilal region.”
Haftar’s statements contradict Al-Sisi’s claims that his regime rejected any coup against “legitimacy” in Libya after Haftar’s failed attempt.
Analysts argue that the post-coup regime in Egypt is seeking to foment unrest at Egypt’s three geographic borders in Palestine (Gaza), Sudan and Libya, due to the three countries’ opposition to the coup.
