Mansour: Egypt is better off

The Egyptian interim president Adly Mansour said he would not run in the upcoming presidential elections.

Speaking during a televised interview on CBC yesterday Mansour, who was given the post by the military coup leaders last July 3, said “Egypt is now better than it was at the beginning of the transitional phase.”

“The presidential elections are approaching and, within days, the electoral commission will announce the timetable for the elections,” he said.

Mansour added that the entire process would last 60 days.
