Senior Israeli analyst: Israel and Egypt have secretly amended the Camp David agreement

April 12, 2014 at 3:15 pm

Israel and Egypt have amended the Camp David peace agreement secretly without announcing the updates to the Egyptians or Israelis, senior Israeli political analyst Ehud Yaari has claimed.

Yaari made his remarks at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy claiming the amendments have become “a new reality”.

Activists published a video on social networking sites which they claim had been recorded by the Australia/Israel & Jewish Affairs Council and dates back to February 23, 2014, showing Yaari saying “our cooperation is unprecedented in scope and intensity though, if I may say, we have not experienced such intimacy between Israel and the Egyptian army and intelligence services not during the Mubarak era or even during the Sadat era.”

Israel supports the military backed Egyptian government and former Field Marshal Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi and those who support him to become president including the interim president and interim prime minister, Yaari said.
