Turkey achieves highest exports to Europe

Turkey was the only member of the top 10 trading partners of the EU able to increase its exports to Europe in 2013, the European Union statistics office Eurostat revealed.


Eurostat pointed out that the European Union has achieved exports worth €1.733 trillion last year showing an increase of three per cent while its imports fell six per cent to €1.683 trillion.

Turkey’s trading volume with the EU’s 28 member states amounted to €127.9 billion where Turkish exports to the European market amounted to €50.2 billion showing an increase of four per cent. Meanwhile, other major EU trading partners suffered a loss in exports ranging from four to 12 per cent. The European exports to Turkey amounted to €77.7 billion with an increase of three per cent last year.
