The United Nations Deputy Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process James W. Rawley expressed concern about the processes that led to the killing of three Palestinians in separate security related incidents in the West Bank in less than 24 hours noting that two of the three victims were killed by direct injuries.

In a statement issued yesterday evening, Rawley urged authorities to conduct an in-depth investigation in to the incidents and welcomed the steps taken to this end, calling for accountability for any violation of international law.

“We urge that thorough investigations be conducted into all such cases, welcoming steps taken to this effect, and that accountability for any violations of international law be ensured” the statement read.

Rawley called on all parties to demonstrate restraint and de-escalate tension.
