A delegation from the US Federal Civil Aviation Authority arrived in Cairo yesterday for the start of a five-day visit to Egypt.
During the visit, the group will inspect Egypt Air’s maintenance and technical affairs to determine if the company complies with international legislation that companies specialised in aircraft overhaul and maintenance are bound by.
Official sources from Egypt Air said: “The delegation includes six of the US senior air inspectors, headed by James Bierwagen.”
The inspections are being carried out in time for the renewal of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)’s international aircraft certification that Egypt Air has been granted annually since 2010.
The sources pointed out that the renewal process will help in attracting more customers to provide technical service for their various aircrafts and gaining the customers’ trust in the service level provided.
