Dalia Mogahed: Al-Sisi will fail in uniting Egyptians

April 18, 2014 at 10:31 am

American scholar Dalia Mogahed predicted that Al-Sisi will fail to unite Egyptians if he wins the presidential elections.

In an interview with Aljazeera, Mogahed argued that one of the reasons of Morsi’s departure was his failure in uniting the Egyptian people.

Mogahed, also an advisor on the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighbourhood Partnerships, pointed out that Egyptian society is currently suffering deep polarisation and that Sisi will not be able to alleviate that.

She argued that the major reason for the hate sentiments prevalent in Egyptian society is the media which significantly contributes to spreading hatred and divisions among Egyptians.
