Interpol arrested Mubarak’s fugitive finance minister Youssef Boutros Ghali in Paris Monday, the Egyptian state television reported.

Ghali has been sentenced in absentia to life imprisonment on charges of money laundering, illegal profiteering and wasting public funds.

The Interpol issued an international red notice against Ghali in cooperation with the Egyptian Interpol director General Magdy Al-Shafei. According to official reports, Ghali will be extradited to Egypt to stand trial for the accusations he faces.

Ghali has been based in London since the 2011 revolution. Unconfirmed reports mentioned that Ghali has been returned to London after he cited his asylum status to Interpol authorities in France.
