29 Morsi supporters arrested during protests in Egypt

The Egyptian ministry of interior said Friday it arrested 29 Morsi supporters during anti-coup protests held in 5 governorates.

According to a statement by MOI, police forces dealt firmly with “a small number of gatherings” by coup opponents in Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Suez and Sharqiya.

Egypt witnessed nationwide protests after a call by the Anti-Coup Alliance. Protesters chanted against Al-Sisi’s running for presidency, and called for the release of political prisoners.
