Al-Sisi: I am an honest man

May 4, 2014 at 5:12 pm

Former Egyptian defence minister and presidential hopeful Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi was quoted as saying that he only feels “indebted to God and the Egyptian people”, and that he is “an honest man” who owes nothing to anyone.

According to Egyptian journalist Ossama Kamal who attended a recent meeting between Sisi and 22 Egyptian media figures, Sisi said: “I will debate with the Muslim Brotherhood before God on the day of judgement, and each side can provide his argument on that day.”

Kamal said that Sisi ruled out any reconciliation with the Muslim Brotherhood, quoting Sisi as saying: “Who should reconcile with whom?…They should take a lot of actions to make up for their sins…”

Kamal delivered those remarks in an interview with the pro-Sisi satellite channel AlQahera Walnas Saturday.
