Israeli authorities have demolished 237 Palestinian structures since the beginning of 2014 including 27 buildings in East Jerusalem and the remainder in area C in the West Bank compared to 663 buildings in 2013, The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said.

According to the report the Israeli authorities last week demolished 21 Palestinian structures in area C and two in East Jerusalem. This led to the displacement of 39 Palestinians, including 23 children, and 20 others were injured.

The report said the demolitions had resulted in the displacement of 465 Palestinians; including 93 in East Jerusalem, compared to 1,103 displaced Palestinians in 2013.

The report said: “The majority of the demolitions took place in the Bedouin community of Khirbet Tall-Khashbeh in Nablus where the authorities demolished three residential buildings, four animal shelters, water wells, a mosque and seven other buildings.”

The demolitions resulted in the displacement of 27 people, including 18 children. Two buildings funded by international donors were amongst those demolished,” the report said.

The report pointed out: “Further, the Israeli authorities issued several demolition orders this week for a house in Hebron and a water well and a barn for cattle in Bethlehem as well as orders to stop work at five apartment buildings financed by international donors in the north of Bir Nabala in Jerusalem and five other buildings in Fasayel Al-Fawka in the Jordan Valley.”
