Palestine TV has published a video showing two Palestinians being killed by the Israeli army forces on Thursday during a protest to mark the Nakba, or “catastrophe” the term which the Palestinians use to describe their forced displacement when Israel was established in 1948.

Palestinian medical sources said “Mohammed Odeh Abu al-Thaher, 22 years old from Abu Shkheidim and Nadim Seyam Nawara, 17 years old from al- Mazra’a al- Sharkiye, both near Ramallah were shot near the heart and moved to Ramallah Hospital”.

The young men fell outside Ofer prison, West of Ramallah during a stone- throwing protest marking the Palestinian Nakba and in solidarity with administrative prisoners who went on hunger strike 22 days ago, the medical sources reported.

The Palestinian government announced Friday a public mourning for one day on Friday; government spokesperson Ihab Bseiso told Palestinian Wafa news agency.

Bseiso said the government has ordered to lower the Palestinian flags on Friday on all its official institutions and ministries in respect.

He urged the Palestinians to participate in the young men funeral in their home villages.
