Senior Hamas leader Mousa Abu Marzouk is to leave the Gaza Strip for Cairo on Tuesday through the Rafah Crossing, an informed source told Turkish news agency Anadolu.

Abu Marzouk is to return to Cairo to attend the wedding of his son. The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that Hamas has received guarantees from Egypt that Abu Marzouk would be allowed to revisit Gaza again anytime he wanted.

The source expects that Abu Marzouk is going to update the Egyptian authorities about the Palestinian internal reconciliation between Hamas and Fatah.

However, Anadolu said that it had not yet received confirmation about whether or not Egypt has agreed to allow Abu Marzouk to visit Gaza in future.

Abu Marzouk, who normally lives in Cairo, arrived in Gaza on 21 April through the Rafah Crossing to attend the reconciliation meetings, which he is leading on behalf of Hamas.
