Lebanese President criticises political deadlock

May 24, 2014 at 3:08 pm

Lebanese President Michel Suleiman said on Friday evening that political deadlock has delayed the achievement of many things in the country.

In a speech during a celebration with journalists, Suleiman said that the basis of the state of Lebanon has recently started to be built with the latest nominations for different positions, a large portion of whom are women.

The President expressed his consent over the recognition of the different parties to maintain stability in the upcoming stage.

At the same time, he expressed fear that there are certain sides that will not like this state of stability. “They might indirectly destabilise the country,” he said.

Suleiman said that the resistance will not be harmed by building the state. Why should the resistance liberate the land if it does not aim to build a democratic state built on justice and equal opportunities?
