May 27, 2014 at 12:17 pm

An Abu Dhabi court has postponed the trial of an Al-Qaeda group arrested in April 2013 until next Monday, state official WAM news agency reported.

WAM said the State Security Service in the Federal Supreme Court in Abu Dhabi decided today to postpone the trial of nine members accused of belonging to Al-Qaeda until June 2.

The news agency said the court listened today to the prosecution’s witnesses.

According to the agency the defence asked for the session to be postponed in order to complete studying some of the documents and papers included in the case file.

The court hearing was attended by eight out of the nice defendants and their families, media representatives and members of civil society organisations in the country.
