“The success of the unity government has become a national responsibility,” a senior leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas said.

Mousa Abu Marzouk, member of the political bureau of Hamas, said, in a press statement that was published yesterday: “With the government of national consensus starting its work, the responsibility of its success has become a national task with distinction.”

The government of national consensus, headed by Rami Hamdallah, took the constitutional oath on Monday before President Mahmoud Abbas at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah.

Abu Marzouk explained that the next government has “major missions”, and real difficulties that begin with its launch.

The leading figure in Hamas added: “We, in Hamas, will start taking care of the other issues and all the officials must read the agreement.”

The movements of Fatah and Hamas have agreed to “hold new elections six months after the formation of the government,” and implement the agreement which was signed in Gaza on the April 23 for ending the divisions.

Abu Marzouk asked all the forces and factions to come together for the success of the work and missions of the unity government.
