Israel approves bill banning amnesty for Palestinian prisoners

Following a heated discussion Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet has approved a bill that prohibits the granting of amnesty to Palestinian prisoners, Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported on its website.

The newspaper said that ministers from Likud, Habayit Hayehudi and Yisrael Beiteinu voted in favour of the bill, while those from Yesh Atid and Hatnuah opposed.

The cabinet was due to vote on the bill last week but Netanyahu decided to remove it from the cabinet’s agenda.
