Abu Marzouk: PA has crossed barriers in dealing with prisoners' supporters

June 11, 2014 at 10:57 am

The Palestinian Authority has crossed all red lines through its practices against members of the Palestinian Legislative Council and those who stand in solidarity with prisoners, Hamas’ Deputy Political Bureau Chief Mousa Abu-Marzouk said.

In a press statement Abu-Marzouk said that such practices go against nationalism and that the PA should not stand in the face of those who support the prisoners.

The Palestinian Authority’s security forces carried out a vicious campaign in a number of West Bank governorates against protests held in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners. Tens of protesters were beaten, dragged on the floor and arrested. Those attacked include the families of prisoners who are on hunger strike, two members of parliament – Hassan Yousef and Fathy Al-Qara’awy, and Nazih Abu Aoun in Nablus.
