Meshaal seeks end to Israeli onslaught on West Bank and Gaza

The head of the Hamas Political Bureau has been calling for international support to end the Israeli onslaught on the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip. Among other efforts, Khaled Meshaal has spoken to the President of Yemen, Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, and Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir.

Meshaal updated the two presidents on the latest developments in Palestinian affairs, including the Israeli escalation of violence against the Palestinian people. He stressed the responsibility of Arab states and governments to stand against this campaign and to support the Palestinians.

Qatar’s Foreign Minister, Dr Khalid Al-Attiyah, and Omani Foreign Minister Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah have also been briefed by the Hamas chief.

Going beyond regional leaders, Meshaal has been in contact with Russia’s Middle East Envoy and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov. No details have been given of the responses he received.
