Egyptian revolutionary forces who supported the 2013 coup refused to take part in 30 June celebrations, stressing that 30 June aimed at excluding the Muslim Brotherhood, and that 25 January was the real revolution.

A representative of 6 April Democratic Front Sherif Al-Roubi said that his movement would not celebrate the anniversary of 30 June, explaining that “25 January was the real revolution” the demands of which have not yet been fulfilled.

Likewise, Shaimaa Hamdy a member of the Youth for Justice and Freedom movement, criticised calls for celebrating 30 June. “Such celebrations have brought us to square one,” she said, adding that her movement is now opposing military rule, but would not engage with the Muslim Brotherhood
