Kuwait and Qatar condemn Israeli raids on the Gaza Strip

Kuwait and Qatar condemned on Monday the latest Israeli raids on the Gaza Strip, in which a number of Palestinians were killed and injured.

Qatar expressed its strong condemnation of the series of raids launched by Israel on Gaza on Sunday night, resulting in the death and injury of dozens of Palestinians.

“Qatar strongly denounces Israel’s on-going hostile acts,” the Qatari Foreign Ministry said in an official statement.

Additionally, Qatar “called on the international community to move to stop Israeli aggression against Palestinians and to lift the unjust siege of the Gaza Strip,” according to the statement that was published by the Qatari News Agency.

In Kuwait, the Speaker of the Kuwaiti parliament, Marzouq Al-Ghanim, condemned the “brutal Israel attacks on the occupied Palestinian territories in the past days”.

Al-Ghanim also called on the international community to assume its responsibility of protecting the Palestinian people.

He said in a press statement that the policy of collective punishment adopted by the Israeli military and settlers toward innocent Palestinians must not go unnoticed.

“Besides having a political responsibility, the international community also has a moral responsibility to protect the Palestinians, who are subjected to blatant war crimes.”

Al-Ghanim noted that the UN, and especially the Security Council, must assume its responsibility and intervene to prevent the Israeli authorities from targeting unarmed Palestinians. The UN must also condemn these acts clearly and strongly, he added.

The Kuwaiti parliamentarian said that the Arab-Israeli conflict will continue at all levels unless Israeli abides by international law and withdraws from all occupied territories, and until a fully sovereign Palestinian state is established, with Jerusalem as its capital.

In the past 24 hours, nine Palestinians (including seven members of Hamas’s military wing Ezz Eddin Al-Qassam Brigades) were killed, and others were injured in a series of air raids launched by the Israeli army against several areas in the Gaza Strip.
