PA security clamps down on anti-Israeli rally in Hebron

July 8, 2014 at 11:32 am

Six people were arrested while others were injured after Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces violently dispersed an anti-Israeli rally in the West Bank city of Hebron yesterday.

Witnesses told the Anadolu news agency that the rally started in front of Al-Haras Mosque in the centre of Hebron after the evening prayer.

PA security services used batons to deter the protesters, who insisted on continuing their protest, which was called for by Hamas. Several were wounded and six were detained.

Israeli occupation forces have been carrying out a massive operation in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. The operation in the West Bank started in June 12, when three Israeli settlers went missing and were later found dead.

Israel announced a wide scale operation on the Gaza and began shelling the area last night.
