6 Gazans killed in fresh Israeli strike

July 12, 2014 at 2:29 pm

Six Palestinians were killed in a fresh Israeli airstrike in the Gaza Strip on Saturday.

“The six were killed in the raid that targeted a group of Palestinians in northern Gaza City,” Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qodra told Anadolu Agency.

A nephew of former Hamas prime minister Ismail Haniyeh was among those killed in the Israeli attack, local sources said.

The new fatalities bring to 127 the number of Palestinians in unrelenting Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since Monday.

Israel claims that the offensive aims at ending rocket fire from the Gaza Strip, home to 1.8 million Palestinians.

Gaza-based resistance factions, for their part, have continued to fire low-yield rockets into Israel in response to ongoing Israeli airstrikes.
