Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accepts the Egyptian ceasefire initiative on condition that the siege on Gaza remains, Haaretz’s military correspondent said.

On Twitter, Barack Rafid reported a source he did not identify saying Netanyahu accepts the Egyptian ceasefire initiative. He said he would ask the security cabinet to vote in favour of the ceasefire.

The Egyptian initiative does not include clear terms about lifting the siege on Gaza, but does include terms that keep the Strip under strict security controls

The initiative includes four terms: full air, sea and ground ceasefire by Israel starting from 6:00GMT, full air, sea, ground and underground ceasefire by Palestinians, discussing the possibility of easing the siege and for senior Israeli and Palestinian officials travel to Cairo within 48 hours to discuss the terms of the initiative.
