Fatah: Israel forced us to resist

July 25, 2014 at 11:33 am

Israel’s actions in Gaza have forced Palestinians and the Fatah movement to resist the occupation in the West Bank, the movement’s spokesperson Osama Al-Qawasmi said.

“The West Bank and Gaza are one inseparable entity against Israeli crimes imposed on us,” Al-Qawasmi told Al-Resalah Net, adding: “We have one destiny. We will put our differences aside and defend our cause as brothers against the Israeli occupation.”

The spokesperson pointed out that Israeli occupation “conspired to break the will of the Palestinian people,” but that Palestinians “will not raise the white flag”.

He added that the Palestinian cause is about having a Palestinian state. “Our people want freedom and will not surrender,” he said.

Asked about his expectation regarding the Israeli reaction to clashes in the West Bank, Al-Qawasmi said: “What should we expect from a government lead by settlers, one which bombed civilians in Gaza after its failure to achieve its goals there?”

He stressed that Israel has two options: “Either to uphold the law and international conventions, or things will get worse.”
