Gaza suffers $4bn in losses following Israeli assault

Israel has caused approximately $4 billion in damages in the Gaza Strip, a Palestinian official told the Petra news agency.

According to the Palestinian Minister of Housing and Public Works Mofeed Al-Hasayna, who spoke at a press conference at the Shifa Hospital in Gaza today, the Israeli attacks have destroyed over 40,000 homes and displaced 10,000 families.

Al-Hasayna warned of the catastrophic consequences of the continued shelling of civilian targets in Gaza. "We have no places to shelter the displaced families," he said.

He called on the international community to stand with the Palestinian people and provide urgent relief to the victims.
