Palestinians in Gaza march in support of team in Cairo

Thousands of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip took to the streets of Gaza in a show of support for the Palestinian team in Cairo discussing terms of a prospective lasting ceasefire.

Hamas spokesman Mushir Al-Masri spoke to the people saying: “We are not done yet. After the victory in the field, we’ve come to the political battle.”

He sent a message to the delegation in Cairo: “For the team in Cairo, it has to know that there is a great and patient nation behind. There are also very skilful fighters waiting for the moment to resume the battle.”

Al-Masri called the Palestinian demands “just and reasonable. These are not the demands of the fighters, but the demands of the whole nation. So the Zionist enemy has to meet all of them.”

He called for all nations to take part in pushing for the achievement of Palestinian demands. “All the Muslim and Arab worlds, in addition to the Egyptians and the international community have to work on fulfilling these demands.”

Addressing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Defence Minister Moshe Ya’alon, Al-Masri said: “The war has not ended yet. The fighters are still in the battlefield. Our rockets are still on standby.

“Our fighters are still waiting for Israel to refuse the demands and they will shower the Israeli cities with rockets.”

Al-Masri also sent a message to the Israelis. “We call on Israelis, if Netanyahu does not agree to our demands, you do not have to return to your homes because rocket fire will resume.

“Negotiations will not be a trick to drag us from the battlefield,” he said. “We are acquainted with such tricks. We call upon them not to try it with us.”
