The Palestinian health ministry said on Wednesday that 4,500 births were recorded in Gaza during the 29 days Israel was continuously attacking Palestinians in the Strip.

Arabs 21 news site quoted Deputy Health Minister Yusuf Abu Al-Rish as saying: “Since the start of the Israeli war, 4,500 births were recorded in the Gaza Strip.”

So far, 432 children have been martyred as a result of the ongoing Israeli bombardment of civilians and their homes.

Israel launched a massive aerial, naval and ground offensive against Gaza on 7 July, which lasted continuously for 29 days until a temporary 72-hour ceasefire came into effect on Tuesday. However, the truce did not deliver any positive outcome during political negotiations in Cairo, and fighting recommenced early on Friday morning.

Around 1,890 Palestinians have already been martyred during the Israeli onslaught, most of them civilians, while around 10,000 sustained various wounds.

Around 1.8 million Palestinians live in the Gaza Strip, making it the one of the most densely populated areas in the world.
