Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and his Saudi counterpart King Abdullah Bin Abdel-Aziz discussed ways to counter “Islamic extremism” during their two-day talks in Jeddah, Saudi Press Agency reported.

Al-Sisi returned to Cairo late on Monday and is scheduled to head to the Russian capital of Moscow for an official visit, according to Egypt’s official news agency MENA.

The talks in Jeddah included a number of issues of mutual concern, including counter-terrorism efforts, the threat of ISIS’s advances, the developments in Gaza and the donors conference for Egypt.

MENA quoted the spokesperson of the Egyptian presidency, Ehab Badawi, as saying that the two leaders “agreed to work together to revive the Arab and Muslim nations, and to exert efforts to correct the negative stereotypes about Islam in the world, which is increasingly being linked to terrorism and violence”.
