Clashes erupted yesterday between Israeli army forces and Palestinians in the West Bank, leading to dozens of Palestinian casualties, Anadolu reported.

According to eyewitnesses clashes broke out near Bethlehem in the south of the West Bank. A child was hit by rubber bullets in his face and taken to hospital. A number of young men suffered from suffocation as a result of the tear gas by security officials.

Other clashes took place in Jerusalem but no casualties were reported.

Israeli forces stormed the town of Silat Al-Harthiya, north of the West Bank, leading to clashes with residents.

In a related context, the Israeli army announced it arrested a member of Hamas in Hebron because he was found to own firearm and bullets warehouses.

The West Bank has witnessed daily clashes between Israeli forces and protesters opposed to the deadly Israeli onslaught on Gaza.
