Iraq: Shia militias kill 65 Sunni worshippers at a mosque in Diyala

At least 65 Sunni worshippers were shot dead by unidentified Shiite militants while performing the Friday prayers yesterday in the eastern Iraqi governorate of Diyala, officials told Al-Arab Al-Yawm.

A further 17 people have been injured in the attack.

The gunmen used machine guns in the attack on the Mosaab Ben Omair mosque in Bani Yas town in Diyala.

Meanwhile, the Iraqi authorities have announced the death of 30 ISIS fighters in targeted air raids in the Dhuloya region in Salahuddin province, the Iraqi Media Network said, citing a government statement.
